The Johnsons' Journey
Sometimes life as we know it is simply not fair.
On May 15th, Cheyenne went in for a doctors’ appointment at 31 weeks into her pregnancy. The doctors noticed her blood pressure was extremely high, and had her to go to the hospital immediately. They discovered she had preeclampsia, placenta abruption, blood clots in her uterus, and her organs were shutting down, and the baby’s heart rate was dropping due to lack of oxygen. Chey had an emergency C- Section, and she and Ben welcomed Jayden William Johnson to the world. He weighed 3 lbs, 7 oz and was 16 inches long. He was transferred to the NICU, where he has grown stronger each day! He weighs over 6 pounds now, and is getting closer and closer to going home.
Unfortunately that is not where the journey ends, and as it turns out it was just the beginning. Chey was still not feeling very well, and after numerous tests, biopsies and doctors watching over her, we received some answers. Answers that none of us wanted to hear. On June 18th, at the age of 23, Cheyenne was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of the cervix, that had spread to her liver, and chemotherapy was started the very next day. In the doctors words, there is no curing this type of cancer, simply keeping her strong and fighting for as long as possible.
Chey is a fighter (must be where Jayden got it from) and is determined to fight her absolute hardest for Jayden and her family. Jayden deserves everything in the world and she intends to be there to give it to him.
What started out as Jayden’s Journey has now become the Johnsons' Journey.
Any funds donated will help Ben, Cheyenne and little Jayden with excess medical bills from chemo, and the NICU, as well as day to day bills and expenses at home with only one income and a new baby! A new baby is a major expense and adjustment for any young family.......imagine having to make that adjustment while going through chemo!
Thank in you advance for your love, support, and prayers. Please keep them coming.
