My name is Ramon Corria and South Wales readers and supporters of the Morning Star newspaper, will be reintroducing the annual walk in the sun we used to do to raise much needed funds for the paper until Covid struck and the world changed completely. This year we will hold the John Haylett Memorial Walk in the sun to raise money for the Morning Star, Britains only national daily socialist newspaper. John was a former Editor and Political editor of the paper who sadly died in September 2019 from brain cancer. John would, when his work allowed, regularly join us us on the walk and was committed to the survival of the Star. This years walk will take place on Sunday July 13th 2025 and we'll assemble outside Cardiff Castle(Castle Street entrance) at 11.00am and walk to the Lewis Arms in Tongwynlais village a walk of about 6 miles. All money raised will go the The Morning Star fighting fund a cause John worked tirelessly to support. John will be with us in spirit on the day and his inspiration will drive us on.
