Lets talk about The Jiujitsu Studio, Lance Johnson started the club back in 2007 at a local Recreation Centre slowly but surely growing over the years and building a much loved family culture along the way. Not only a gym but a community bonded by like minded individuals. Lance has a passion for sharing his knowledge and been teaching martial arts accumulatively for 14 years. and holds a 4th degree black belt in Senshi Kenpo Jiujitsu and a black belt in Brazilian Jiujitsu.
The gym has hit a bit of a road block after having narrowly made it through Covid in 2020. Over the past 14 years It has changed the lives of many individuals mentally and physically and there are many who can account for this first hand. Some of which have come from troubled backgrounds in which the gym has truly given them a new positive direction in life. Lance is not just a Jiujitsu coach, but a mentor who has put his heart and soul into helping so many people.
In order for the gym to continuing changing lives we need to ask for your help. Covid dealt a devastating blow to the Jiujitsu Studio, ceasing its ability to generate an income for those months of closure. Unfortunately the bills didn't stop. Through increases in marketing, social media and word of mouth the community is starting to grow again but just not enough get ahead of the bills. We are aiming to raise about $10,000 in order to clear out current debt which includes backpay of rent and outgoings. Without this help the gym is very close to having to close its doors and Lance being the very proud person he is has not wanted to have to ask for help and has been struggling with this in silence for some time.
So please any amount that you are able to help will make a difference in The Jiujitsu Studio being able to remain open and to continue to build on the amazing community it has become and will continue to be.
Thank you to everyone for your support
