The Jenna Wilkins Story

Donation protected

As many of you know Jenna's Story and have followed her along throughout her journey, not everybody knows the extent of it. The good, the bad, the ugly and just the damn whole devastation of it.
So pop the kettle on, get a cuppa ready, and start reading...

Now let us rewind back to 2015, Shortly after her 21st birthday, Jenna was diagnosed with breast cancer. Months of fertility treatment, chemo, and eventually a mastectomy followed.
She lost her hair, she lost her youth but she kept her sparkle. Losing her hair was devastating for her. Most cancer patients don’t want to look like cancer patients and Jenna went to great lengths to hide her cancer. She’s since trained as a makeup artist and offers free wig styling and makeup to anyone suffering from this illness. (Look her up on Instagram at Contour & Curls)

We fast forward to October 2016, where Jenna was given the best news and had been given the all-clear! We now know what lottery winners feel like! These few months were just great, celebrating her life and just being in complete awe of everything she had just been through and how positive she had stayed! However, things did not stay this way for very long.

Now, let's skip all the way to December 2017. Jenna was booked for a routine scan, which showed that it had come back. This time it was in her liver and spine, she was deemed incurable. She was just 23. (Yes, I can see the hairs on the back of your spine stand up too).

Since then Jenna has remained positive, has kept her wicked sense of humor and is an inspiration to so many. She is involved with several cancer charities including Look Good Feel Better and has spoken at workshops for Macmillan.

Now we jump to January of this year. We were devastated to find out that her cancer has progressed further and there was some indication of it in her lung. She had surgery and the cancerous fluid building in her lung was removed.

Its now time for the important bit... A few days ago Jenna got the news that nobody wants. Her oncologist called to explain that her cancer has progressed a lot and the treatment hasn’t worked and her only option is now to go for IV Chemo (which means she will become extremely poorly and will loose her hair all over again).

But chemo won’t cure her and we have to look outside of the NHS for treatments. There is a treatment in Germany that she can potentially have but it is hugely expensive. She has to pay for all medication she receives outside of the NHS in the hope that some of it will have an impact. This is why I am writing this.

Luckily Jenna is a warrior and has kept her spirits up, even in lockdown!

We now need your help! Any donations you may be able to give will help an awful lot. I know Jen will hate me for writing all of this and will hate to feel like a charity case but this is our last resort.

So I am asking you, yes you! If your daughter, sister, niece, cousin, grandaughter, best friend, and rock was going through hell what would you do? Please help, donate, share & fundraise literally ANYTHING to help our Jen.

Jenna never asks “why me”? Cancer doesn’t discriminate, it doesn’t care how old you are, the colour of your skin, or whether you’re a good person or not. It destroys families, it destroys dreams and futures but it can’t take away our resolve or our determination to see Jenna and people just like her get over this awful disease.

Jenna is a bright light, a trooper, and beautiful inside and out. The world is a much better place with her in it. Please help us get her the treatment she needs to beat this disease.

Thank you so much
