The James Zawalich funeral fund

Hello, I'm Beth, Jimmy's sister. On Sunday night, Jimmy was tragically struck and killed while walking home from the store near his home in Auburn, MA.
It was sudden, heartbreaking, and during a time of year already heavy with grief.
We’ve faced loss more times than we can count in recent years — and just as healing begins, we’re met with another tragedy.
He had no children, no partner, but he was someone’s son. A brother. An uncle. A cousin. A friend to many, especially those who knew him since his teenage years and beyond, that then became family.
He was a loner at heart, often quiet and stubborn, but deeply loved and appreciated — even when he kept his distance.
He lived with disability and pain, the result of a motorcycle accident years ago. He moved slowly, used a cane, and navigated a world that wasn’t built for him. The road he lived on was dangerous, and despite our warnings, he did what he had to do to get by as accessibility was a daily struggle. He lived on his terms. And we let him be.
His loss was a tragic accident, but Jimmy is more than an accident. He loved motorcycles and was a Harley guy until he physically couldn't ride anymore. He loved skulls and his rock bands. He covered his walls in posters, middle fingers, and n*de girls like teenagers do. He was a huge Trump supporter and had many flags displaying so. He loved his dog Lucy, and Blitz before her. He was creative in his own ways and had many DIY wood and metal projects from over the years. I remember him building airplanes and cars out of beer cans, making tables and stools from wood, and so many other cool things like his giant middle finger.
Now, we want to give him the dignity he deserves by honoring his memory and the good times.
He had limited income, no insurance, and no savings. I will be helping my family with the arrangements and I am the sole person handling this fundraiser.

Every contribution will go directly toward funeral services and honoring his memory.
We ask for your help — whether through donations, shares, or simply holding space for his story.
And we ask for caution: when driving near homes and shopping areas, especially at night, please slow down, stay alert, and look out for those who move differently.
