The Izzy Bee Fund

When you add a member to your team, you open your world to their family, and they become part of yours. When we first met Lauren Ramirez in an interview for a writer's role at Maven, we were instantly taken by her huge heart, infectious positivity, and her strength.

And then we met her youngest daughter Izzy.

At just a few weeks old, it was clear that Izzy had inherited her mother's fortitude in spades. Over the past eight months, we got to know and love Izzy's fight (and her sassy side-eye) over work meetings, photos, and updates.

When Izzy passed away, we felt her spirit, the bee, touch down in each of our lives—from Connecticut to New York to Florida across to Arizona. Though we only met from afar, she will remain the strongest person we have ever known and forever part of our work family.

To honor Izzy, we are collecting donations to benefit other families and their little fighters at Duke Children's Hospital, where Izzy was cared for.
