The Island Games Half Marathon
Donation protected
As many of you already know, running is one of my favourite things to do but I didn't always enjoy it...
I began around 6 years ago for the Great South Run 10 mile event, to raise money for Kissypuppy- a charity which is close to my heart.
Initially, ‘KissyPuppy’ was set up as a mechanism to fundraise for Sophie and her medical treatment. Sadly Sophie lost her battle at the end of 2013 but KissyPuppy intends to continue to provide support to children on the Isle of Wight suffering from life-shortening conditions and is now KissyPuppy – The Sophie Rolf Trust.
More information about the charity can be found here.
This year, I have been improving my times and recently completed the Bath Half marathon with a PB of 1 hour 27 minutes.
This PB means that I have been selected to represent the Isle of Wight at the 2019 Gibraltar Island games in July. There, I'll be competing in the Half Marathon event.
The Isle of Wight team is completely self-funded so I need to raise sufficient funds to be to able to travel and represent the Island at the games.
I am planning to split any money I raise and donate this to Kissypuppy because Sophie gave me the motivation to begin running all those years ago, and I know that she will be looking down on me, cheering me on, in July.
Any donation you can make, no matter how small would be greatly appreciated.
