My friends Dane and Meghann have just recently had a major accident at their business. They own a store in Clayton Heights called the Intersection: Fair Trade and as of right now, their store is closed. Last week there was an electrical fire next door to them which resulted in water damage to their store. After assessing the damage, the restoration company determined that they need to replace the floors and potentially have some more repairs, too. Fortunately, not a lot of product was damaged, but this will be a lot longer of a process than they have originally thought. The store being closed for longer than they anticipated will really impact their business.
While this has many implications locally here, ultimately being closed for an extended amount of time does impact the groups that they partner with. The Intersection partners with around 30 groups around the world that are working on the front lines to help break the cycle of poverty and human trafficking through job creation. From personal experience I can truly say that The Intersection plays an incredible part to help restore individuals to freedom as well as advocate and educate many individuals here about human trafficking and fair trade practices.
Dane, Meghann, and their two boys are an incredible family who love and serve so well. They have sacrificed a lot and poured so much into this store and into the groups they work with. Please let us as a community ban together to say we believe in you and your work to bring about freedom to everyone through our financial support. No amount is too little to support the Jaegers and The Intersection who's reach extends far more than what we see here as they are really changing lives.
