The Independence Avenue Truck Eating Bridge ate a truck

Hi, my name is Rachael. I am the creator and admin for the facebook group

“ The Independence Avenue truck eating bridge”.

I am also the vice president for the Sheffield Neighborhood association. Our neighborhood is located near the bridge.

On July 28th, 2025 The Independence Avenue Truck Eating Bridge ate another Truck.

We laughed because the bridge is hungry and had not had a meal for several months. And, It is hilarious that a bridge that has been in the same spot for over a hundred years keeps getting hit by professional drivers who should know how tall their trucks are, and who should know they won’t fit under a 12 foot bridge.

It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Someone was seriously hurt this time.

That’s not funny.

I believe we can do some good and help the driver and his family.

At the same time we can spread the word about the bridge in Kansas city that eats Trucks.

If everyone in this group gives just a dollar we can raise more than $20,000 to help the driver and his family with personal expenses while he is out of work recovering from his injuries.
