For Taylor, and how he touched so many lives.

First and foremost, I'd like to thank everyone for all the love, kind thoughts and words, prayers and support you've given me through the most horrific time in my life. I've been a gamer all my life and I introduced Taylor to gaming. As early as 2 years old, I would give him a controller without a battery, so he thought he was playing and he'd say, "Did you see that move I did, sis? Watch, I'll do it again!" Then I'd have to keep spamming the same move so he'd stay so proud of himself.
Taylor was born at 1.50 lbs and we were told he wouldn't survive after all the life saving surgeries. My mom adopted him from within the family, as she was an RN and he needed intense medical care. Taylor was her nephew at first, my cousin. After adoption, he became her son and my baby brother. Shortly after we adopted him, my mom became wheelchair bound and needed a lot of help to take care of him so 12 year old me, stepped up. That's when I felt he was my son and still feel that to this day.
Taylor was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off of his back, if you needed it and freeze the whole way home until he got another shirt to put on. No matter what happened in life, he always had a smile on his face. He truly was a family man who checked in on everyone he cared about.
Since he was 16, he traveled and lived all over the country to find out who he was, what he wanted to do, and where he belonged. Ultimately, he ended up back where he came from, in New Jersey and that's where he passed. He had 2 other passions, one being gaming and the other was his motorcycle. He'd just bought a new PC for gaming and just purchased the bike of his dreams. Things were looking good for him and he was about to go to Thailand to teach in about 6 weeks.
The fateful night came when he was riding his bike in the left lane, wide open.... then he saw a car come off of the exit and immediately cut over 3 lanes, into the lane he was traveling. He said he just couldn't stop in time and crashed into the car's back bumper. His left leg was completely shattered, broke 2 bones in his spine, broken scapula and clavicle, knocked out teeth, punctured lung, broken ribs, bones in one hand shattered, other hand fractured and paralyzed from the waist down. He had fluid in his lung and caught pneumonia a couple days later. He had clinically died 3x in 5 days. He needed a life saving machine to take the blood from his body, oxygenate it and send it back into his body and was also on a ventilator. We were able to communicate by tiny head nods and hand squeezes.
The night he passed, I got a call asking consent to put him on dialysis because while his kidneys were functioning, he was getting so many fluids, they were having a hard time keeping up. I got there and was talking to him, holding his hand. 2 hours later, he coded and it was only minutes after that, he was gone. I had my head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat until it stopped. He fought a hard, painful, and traumatizing fight for 15 days but unfortunately, lost the battle. Them final bosses are always the hardest to take down, right?
He would always express to me how much he appreciated and adored his gaming and biking community. You all gave him support when he needed it, had someone to chat with at all times and genuinely had a great time when with you all. Keep him in your memory and thoughts and maybe make, " the Taylor ultimate" as a final attack in one of your games or something.
I know he's looking down on every one of you that he came in contact with. Please drive very safely and take an extra look both ways for those motorcycles that you don't see at first sometimes.
When you get that extra boost in the game you're playing that you didn't see happening, know that it's him powering you through to grab the W.
Proceeds will go to Taylor's sister Rose, be it for medical bills, funeral proceedings, or other costs during these troubling times for his friends and family.
Please, if you donate, don't be afraid to leave a small message about your relationship with Taylor. Surely the family will appreciate your kind words.
Fly high Taylor, we miss you so much already.
