The Illiano's Mortgage Fund

Oftentimes, life hits us with a bang and though it may seem impossible to go on, we simply do. We were made stronger than rock bottom moments. I'd like to share this story with you all in high hopes of helping my friends. My name is Dianelys and after much thought, I opened this GoFundMe account on behalf of Him, our Lord, and savior, for my coworker Thomas Illiano.

 

I've worked with Thomas for 3 years and even participated in his wedding to Placido Illiano in February 2020 right before the pandemic. They are a happy family of 4. Thomas, Placido, and their doggies, Pheobe and Chino. On December 24th, 2020 they received the news that Placido has been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. A type of cancer that starts near or on the spinal cord. It's a long ongoing battle especially during these hard times with Covid. Since then, cancer has spread through other parts of his body. With Placido on chemo, many surgeries, and more complications arising, Thomas has had to take time off work multiple times to take care of him.

 

Currently, Placido had to move back to Italy to his hometown with his parents to explore different options and to receive affordable care. With so much unfortunate news, Thomas has decided to prepare himself and take a flight to Italy for a few days only because can't afford to take a longer trip due to the mortgage of the house they had just purchased not long ago. Thomas can't lose this house, otherwise, he will have nowhere to go.

 

This is why I'm here with high hopes that this short story will be read and that I can raise a humble amount of 2-3 months' worth of mortgage in the next 2 weeks or by the end of February 2022 if it's the least I can do so that he can have more time with his loved one.
