The Icing On Top

Hi Everyone,

As you know I am THIS close to opening the O’Malley’s Oven store front and kitchen in Troy NY. The road has been long, and not all together typical given the wild ride this year has been for all of us. Due to unforeseen delays, a space share changing direction, and of course covid and the supply chain (good band name? ) The cushion I’d had to weather hiccups has dwindled and we’re still a month out from opening. And open we SHALL! No matter what.

This morning, however, I decided to suck up my pride, and admit that if I’m going to open with the finished touches, and a full size cooler, I’m going to need to ask for help (something having a baby and a small business is forcing me to be better at). I am so fortunate that in this time of covid my business has been able to survive, and is now poised to grow. It’s in no small part to serendipity of circumstances, hugely supportive parents, Scott, Leah, Ashley, and a lot of hard work and all the leaps of risky faith.

I know the last couple years have been hard on everyone, and have wrestled with the idea of posting this, but hell, what’s fighting for a dream if you don’t swing for the stars, and step out of your comfort zone… So what ever people can give the goal here is primarily a large cooler from my awesome used equipment guy, and final touches so the bakery can open in February looking truly complete. In the spring I plan to have a grand opening and also a funders party to say thank you.
