The Hunts Baby Journey
Donation protected
Hi family and friends,
The Hunts( Irvin Hunt III and Elise Hunt)
One of our biggest aspirations is to have a child. Along the way, we have had our fair share of trials. In January of 2020, we decided to try and have a child. To make this happen Elise had to come off her lupus medication. We tried for 6-7 months. We were unsuccessful. In September of 2020, the doctor informed Elise that because of her Lupus being in a critical state, she was a high pregnancy risk and should not attempt to have a child and in addition was put back on her medication. This news devastated us. With our options now slim we sought out surrogacy. We both agreed that this a good option and decided to pursue it further.
The surrogacy agency that we our using is Surrogate Steps LLC, and we have selected an amazing attorney who is helping us through the process.
To better understand our situation let us explain Elise's situation and what she deals with as far as her illness.
I have SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus) which is a chronic autoimmune illness that I've been diagnosed since I was 12 years old. Some things I deal with on a daily basis is fatigue, skin rashes, fever, and pain with swelling joints. Its been a journey even experiencing symptoms like arthritis, lung problems, heart problems, and kidney problems.
Also another illness that I've been diagnosed with alongside with lupus is ITP(Immune Thrombocytopenia) which means my body immune system attacks and destroy platelets in the blood. My white blood cells and red blood cells are constantly low which doesn't allow my body to fight off infections.
I do have a great team through MedStar which includes a Rheumatologist, hematologist, and neurologist that have been helping me a lot.
This GoFundMe is to help raise money for the cost of surrogacy. Any donation is appreciated as it gets us closer to our goal. Every donation means the world to us! Thank you and God bless.
