The Hunger - Short Film

Hey!
My name is Caitlin Acken Taylor and I’m producing a short film called The Hunger.
I’m delighted to update that we were able to secure the gear, pay for everyone’s food for the weekend and we were able to shoot everything we needed! Thank you everyone who has supported us so far.
Many of the cast and crew helped pay for things and I’d love to make sure everyone is reimbursed and receives an honorarium for their excellent work. The more we can raise the more we can give them!
You can follow @thehungershortfilm on instagram for more visual updates and behind the scene pictures.
The next stages are post production so I will be looking in addition to reimbursing our cast and crew and giving honorariums, I will also be searching for financial aid to help pay towards editing, sound and coloring the film.
Production story:
Originally I planned to shoot this film on my phone if that’s what it came down to. A passion project to keep the creative flow going. However with each conversation, with each step taken it naturally got bigger and bigger until now we got a full cast and crew with set, amazing locations, costumes, camera, lenses you name it! I never created a budget for the film or planned one as I didn’t expect it to take off like this and at such speed. I had no idea how it would evolve! I was both delighted, frightened and excited by it. And very much want to follow through with this to its highest potential.
More about the film:
In a timeless yet dreamlike Victorianesque world we observe our central protagonist Coyote, trapped by her own crippling projections of the expectations and limitations that surround her. We follow her alongside the Three Fates who watch as she breaks through these old beliefs and creates a new one. One that is expansive and freeing, a reality where she plans to ‘eat’ indefinitely.
Why this story?
I am not where I want to be in my life. I keep finding myself trapped by my own limiting belief, that I cannot pursue my dreams because I ‘don’t have what I need’. If I keep going like this I will never create or build the life I want and I will always be unsatisfied. I know I’m not alone in this. I see so many people around me who are also trapped by their own limiting beliefs that stop them from taking action. So much blame is placed upon our surroundings and how we were raised, as if they control us and decide our fate. It is my belief that we are in control. We get to decide. I hope this short will ignite in others that realization, or at least the curiosity to explore it.
Sincerely,
Caitlin
