The Hummingbird Endowment for the Arts will be an annually awarded endowment for women in the pursuit of education in the creative arts.
We're founding this in the memory of Jennifer Lauren Miller Higley — designer, artist, loving wife and champion for equality and women’s rights.
In life, Jenn visited museums and exhibitions constantly -- typically weekly. Our life was filled with art, music, conviction and love.
Her life was cut short at 35 after after a year-long fight with an extremely aggressive breast cancer.
She would have had such an impact in the world and we hope that this endowment can make a difference.
What Your Donation Goes Towards
Your donation goes towards formalization, legal fees, and the initial seeding of the endowment.
About the Endowment
How the endowment will be awarded:
- October of each year registration will open.
- November semifinalists will submit a video pitch.
- December a panel of the board of the endowment will award a recipient of the endowment. This recipient will be featured on the official website.
Please note: we are currently in the process of formalizing the endowment. You will automatically be signed up to receive updates when the endowment is formalized.
