the human spirit is stronger than cancer
Donation protected
Unfortunately, On Sunday 8th October myself and several others should have been doing a SKYDIVE jump for our local hospital. Due to a plane fault we were unable to complete this jump! we have now rescheduling for March 16th 2024, as you all know we are absolutely gutted.
The good news is we can gain more money for our amazing charity.
I am supporting the colleagues who work in the ward who passionately believe this will have a significant impact on the patients mental health and overall wellbeing.
This jump will help to fundraise for the GWH in providing a safe outdoor space specifically for patients going through cancer treatments.
Dove Unit is a specialist ward providing inpatient care to cancer patients. The unit cares for individuals requiring intensive chemotherapy, stem cell transplants and treatment of neutropenic sepsis. Those admitted to Dove Unit are generally inpatients for many weeks or even several months. Due to the depletion in their immune system patients are isolated and discouraged from mixing with the general public.
This is challenging both physically and mentally and the aim is to provide a secure outdoor space for patients to use. A court yard has been successfully identified however, this needs extensive renovation in order to transform it into a safe and inviting garden.
This garden will make a significant difference to so many patients.
Any donation no matter how big or small with be gratefully received.
