I'm celebrating my 70th year. It's worth celebrating as it nearly didn't happen! In March, I underwent two heart operations at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London. The team's intervention was rapid and timely - without it, this would have been the final year of my life.
The Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals have since 1841 been treating heart and lung conditions. The research they do changes lives across the world. From my room at the hospital I could see the building where the treatment for cystic fibrosis was developed many years ago. But the pioneering research never stops.
I think what the team there do is amazing. Will you help me celebrate with a gift, anonymous if you wish, to help them find treatments for adults and children in the future? I would be so grateful.
