Hi! I'm Kat. I am a graduating senior at Lee University. I have been seeking a communications internship for months to develop my skills and finalize my degree, but despite having multiple interviews, my search has still continued. A month ago, I was given warning that the coffee shop I worked for was shutting down, leaving me unemployed as of May 16th (RIP Cleveland Coffee & Market). I have been doordashing to make ends meet, but it is an unreliable form of income and won’t cover some of my necessary bills (rent and copays). I would love to take on a temporary job until I get an internship, but unfortunately I cannot perform most duties because of my disabilities (POTS, IST, and, now, potentially hEDS). I cannot perform any jobs that require standing for longer periods of time or require heavy lifting or manual labor. Because of this, I am now in a position of unemployment and am without stable income, despite applying for many opportunities in the area. I am someone that does not give up easily. I will keep my head up, keep pushing forward and give my work all I have. I know I have what it takes. Everything is in its own timing. Unfortunately, my rent is due before I would receive a paycheck from any new opportunities. With the first of the month coming up quickly, I wanted to reach out and invite people to invest in this chapter of a dedicated and resilient person's story. This is a temporary situation and I am determined to change it. It just won't change in time to pay my bills.
As you’ve likely seen, there’s a menu of what you could buy from me when you donate! There’s a variety ranging from a forehead smooch to a small handwritten note about why I think you’re cool (sent via USPS). Whatever you’d like to purchase, leave a comment or message me directly telling me what you’d want and any details regarding it!!
Thank you so much for everything! Know you mean the world to me.
