My name is Keri, and I am the founder of the North Cyprus Animal Welfare Trust.
This charity was born from heartbreak.
Recently, I tried desperately to save a young dog named Ümit, which means “Hope” in Turkish. I named him Hope because I truly believed he would survive and get the chance to experience the love, safety, and happiness that every animal deserves. Sadly, despite my efforts, Hope didn’t make it.
Losing him was devastating. I felt helpless knowing that so many animals across North Cyprus face the same struggles every day — abandoned, injured, neglected, and without access to the care they desperately need.
I made a promise that Hope’s life would not be forgotten and that his story would inspire something positive. The North Cyprus Animal Welfare Trust is that promise.
Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome vulnerable animals across North Cyprus, giving them the second chance that Hope never had.
To begin this journey, we are raising funds for a dedicated rescue van. Having a rescue vehicle will allow us to reach injured and abandoned animals quickly, transport them safely to veterinary care, deliver food and supplies, and support rescue efforts across the region.
Every donation, no matter how small, will bring us one step closer to putting Hope’s legacy on the road and helping animals who have nobody else to turn to.
Your support is not just helping us buy a van. It is helping us build a future where more animals receive the care, compassion, and second chance they deserve.
Thank you for believing in our mission and for helping us turn heartbreak into hope.
In memory of Ümit (Hope). ❤️
