In 2011 The Ruck to Remember began its mission to honor and remember our fallen. Since 2011 the Ruck to Remember grew into a much bigger movement, in fact, a Movement within a Movement. In 9 years 2011-2019 the Ruck to Remember partnered with Veteran charities and in doing so raised over 1.2 million dollars. 100% of the funds raised went directly to those charities. While the Ruck to Remember bared the operation cost of hosting the multi-state movement. In April 2020, the Honor Movement Foundation was created with a focus to assist Active-duty, Veterans, First Responders, & their families, in navigating and providing logistical support to move them beyond the loss and trauma of their sacrifice.
The Honor Movement Foundations Programs of Impact will evolve to the needs of our Veterans & First Responders. In doing so we aim our support to:
- Provide operational & logistical support during critical times of need to seek medical and or psychological support with PTS, Depression, and Addiction.
- Financial assistance to Active-duty military, Veterans and first responders and their families in times of transition, crisis or healing.
- Provide Veterans & First with safeguard and passage to medical & physical rehabilitation treatments.
- Transition & Career assistance are accomplished through educational grants, mentorships and advisement. (TAC)
- Establish action committees to affect US Policy & Legislation to increase benefits & support to the Veteran & first responder communities (PAC)
- Provide financial support to other 501c3 designated nonprofit organizations that share our vision of supporting veterans & first responders' causes.
With Covid-19 impacting the last 3 Ruck to Remember events, we have had to offset the cost of the operation. Further, to ensure full transparency and accountability with The Honor Movement Foundation as a 501(c)(3) we have encountered legal and administrative fees costing over $14000 since November of 2022.
