September raises awareness for suicide prevention. As a show of solidarity, I’ll be swimming at The Honor Foundation’s Swim for SOF on Saturday, September 16, in the cold waters of San Diego to Coronado Island.

THF assists in the transition of special operations warriors from all branches in their 12-week cohort program, matching them with corporate opportunities upon graduation. If your company is interested in gaining a few cohorts, look them up online. They have expanded campuses to include Lejeune, Eglin, Tampa, San Diego, JBLM (WA), Bragg, Campbell, and Virginia Beach.

Throughout our careers, the tragic act of suicide has likely affected someone in each of our military, civilian, and/or family circles. While it often seems like a private struggle, the pathway can start with a single life happenstance that plants a dark thought in our mind. THF’s proven program offers our outgoing SOF vets a continuing sense of purpose and identity in their new season of life.
