The Homo Hotel Needs Help
Donation protected
The Homo Hotel is a collective house of queer artists living in Philadelphia and we need help to lift ourselves into a place of security and safety.
We are raising money to cover two months of our rent, and a little extra to give us security in paying our gas bill through the winter, purchasing collective food and other necessities, and providing us with enough stability to create a savings for the house long term.
Over the past few months, nearly all 6 of us have fallen into unemployment, or are in incredibly precarious financial situations for reasons pertaining to health issues, transness, and discrimination. This is the culmination of emergency after emergency, personally and collectively, which has left us together in a situation of crisis.
Part of the strength and bond of our house is how we relate to each other based on our marginalization and the ways we try to support each other materially and emotionally. Together, we have built a family. However, what bonds our hearts together has also made us incredibly vulnerable as a group.
Receiving this support will ensure our safety and livelihood and put us in a position where we can lift ourselves out of this crisis and maintain stability for ourselves into the future and share what we are able to cultivate with our communities and other families when we are not in crisis.
