The Holt Family Medical bills and expenses
Donation protected
I would like to introduce you to an incredibly resilient family, the Holts. Dustin and Erica, along with their three children: Aubree, Kaden, and Ketan.
The past year has presented numerous challenges for the Holt Family, with significant loss and trauma. Towards the end of last year, Erica Holt faced the heartbreaking loss of her mother and was in horrible a car accident, resulting in the total loss of her vehicle. By the grace of god she walked away from that accident sustaining minor injuries in the form of scratches and bruises and without any major harm.
On February 22nd, Dustin Holt experienced a catastrophic car accident that left him clinging to life by a thread. He was emergency airlifted by helicopter from Huntland, TN to Nashville Vanderbilt Hospital.
A stranger, which we still haven’t been able to identify, heroically pulled Dustin out of his burning car, about 5 seconds before the car was completely engulfed in flames. Had this bystander not leaped into action, Dustin would simply not be here today.
The wreckage consumed his belongings, including his wallet and phone, leaving him as a John Doe in all of the chaos. In moments of fleeting consciousness, the only words he could gather was "Please, I need my kids. Please, call them. I need my kids." Before he was rushed to his first of many surgeries, even through broken bones and shock he managed to remember the phone number, and the EMTs called his family for him.
Dustin sustained severe injuries to his right leg and left arm. Both his tibia and fibula in his right leg are broken, with the tibia compound broken and the fibula broken in two places.
His journey to recovery will be arduous. Initially confined to a wheelchair for a minimum of six months, Dustin and his family hold onto hope that he will transition to crutches within a year. The road to walking again, even for short intervals of ten minutes, is anticipated to take at least two years.
Where is the money going:
All donations will be going directly to Dustin Holt which will help pay for his medical bills, making his home wheelchair accessible by adding a ramp and whatever else he will need for accessibility, and the rent on his house including his expenses for the first 6 months where he will be completely constrained to a wheelchair.
Thank you anyone who can donate. Please share this post to anyone you can. Lastly please drive safe and give your loved ones a huge hug because you never know when it might be the last time.
