The Holt Cat Army Wants YOU!

Donation protected
First, meet the army! All are free to good homes:

Penny and her 3 babies born on 8/2 and 8/3.
Super sweet girl. Loves a good scritch on the head. Can't be separated from her babies for a while though.

Mama
Penny's sister. Very sweet, fairly skittish.

Trixie
Mama's daughter, born sometime in June. Giant goofball. She loves to play and is a tricky little thing. Hence her name!

Tommy
He's not dead, I promise lol. He probably would not thrive in a home at this point, he's pretty accustomed to being outside. But if you have a big yard with some critters that need gettin', he's your guy! He'll let you scratch his head after he gets used to you.

Rusty
Neutered! Sweet boy. He's pretty used to being outside, but he's very sweet and could probably get used to a home environment. He's a big fella with a few some dental and skin issues that need to be addressed, but he'd be a great boy for a big yard. Loves being pet.

Hazel
Rusty's relative, unsure if she's his daughter or sister, but we ARE sure she's always got her tongue out! And will definitely sit on your lap. Unbelievably affectionate and will tap her paw on you to get your attention. Pregnant.

One of our newest friends we affectionately call Little Girl until we come up with a better name. Very sweet and affectionate girl. Loves being pet. Pregnant.
*UPDATE 8/9!! Little Girl had her babies. There was quite a struggle with these babies, they were wrapped in the umbilical cord and still attached to the placenta. I cut them free and LG is slowly learning how to be a mom. They are VERY tiny kittens.

Hello friends!

Ellen here. Many of you know that I have taken on caring for a community of feral kitties that live in the forest behind our house. I don't like the term "feral" for them though. It doesn't fit. They are some of the sweetest and most affectionate animals I've ever met. Each one has a name, a personality, a favorite friend, a unique meow, and some of them, babies!

There are many challenges when caring for more than a dozen of anything, really! The cost of food, over the counter flea and tick medication, outdoor cat houses etc. has been growing each month with each new life. One of our biggest hurtles is getting these babies spayed and neutered to stop the population growth past this youngest generation. I have contacted all the rescues, TNR's, and organizations lower Georgia has to offer, but because of the overwhelming number of cats they see, getting appointments on the books for these guys is a challenge.

I created this GoFundMe because several people have reached out to see if they can help in any way. I would have been happy to handle this on my own as I was the one who was, as Jonhenry so lovingly puts it, "Johnny Appleseed galivanting out in the woods with an army of cats in tow." But I am slowly learning to accept that this may be bigger than I can handle alone.

This GoFundMe is just step 1 of my plan. I'm looking into creating a non-profit organization, Jonhenry's mom is looking at government grants, and I'm always on the search for any other type of organization that can help.

Thank you so much for reading the reader's digest version of their story. It has been an honor to care for these sweet angels who otherwise might not have made it.
Any donation made will be put towards food, medications, outdoor shelters, and spay/neutering operations.

Beyond what words can convey, thank you.
