The Holland's Hassle

My name is Brynn Richardson. I am the niece of Lisa and Todd Holland. Lisa and her three children are all alumni of Tecumseh. Todd is an alumni of Adrian. I am making this gofundme on their behalf. Please listen to their story:

My uncle Todd is my male role model in life. He has demonstrated a good father figure, a loving husband, an active Christian, and a hard worker since I was just a little girl. He offered me advice in even the smallest situations- and offered his home to be my own. It’s hard to see the ones you look up to and love so much start to struggle.

Back in 2019, my uncle Todd was diagnosed with “primary lateral sclerosis” a.k.a PLS with possible signs of ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). This is a horrible disease that can take a lot away from a person. It affects the motor neurons in the brain. As the years have gone on- the disease has progressed. Due to this- he is no longer able to work.

My aunt Lisa on the other hand is the kindest woman I know. She listens to me in every situation and puts others' needs before her own. She is the sweetest woman with the most positive mindset. She recently has had to become the main provider for her family due to my uncle's conditions. She works so hard. She is an employee at a shop on most days- while also the boss of her own cleaning business- all of this on top of being a mom to three.

She just recently had to let all of her cleaning clients go- and is on leave right now for her other job due to a tragic incident. As I stated earlier, mobility is a side effect of my uncle's disease. Last week, my aunt tried to catch my uncle as he was falling and she couldn't catch him. They both fell and she ended up tearing her MCL and ACL and now is required to undergo surgery…

Even with all of these unfortunate events- the Holland family always has a smile on their face. I am amazed by how one family can be so positive when at times it seems the world is so negative to them.

As you can imagine, money and finances are going to be a struggle. I mean my aunt cannot work right now, there's the cost of surgery, medical bills, food, three kids, daily needs, and so much more.

I took it upon myself to start this gofundme for them… With their permission of course. I would love to be able to raise money for them- which I know would help their family a lot. This is the least I can do for them.

I believe in my strong community- and the power of kindness that we can make this goal possible. I understand if you’re not able to donate- but please use the word of mouth to share this with more people.

Thank you for taking the time to read this small portion of the Holland family's story. I have linked here https://www.als.org a study that is trying to find a cure for ALS. Remember to stay kind and in my aunt's words, “God will give us strength”.
