The Hogue Family
Donation protected
The Hogue family suffered the tragic and untimely loss of mother and wife, Christina (aka Chris) Walker Hogue on May 12, 2022. Chris was 37 years old.
As some of you may know, Chris struggled for years with chronic health issues. She recently underwent a procedure to address those issues. The procedure itself went well, but Chris suffered significant and catastrophic complications. Chris spent two weeks in a coma before it was learned that she would not recover.
Chris’s indomitable spirit defies easy description. She was a kind, loving person who was quick to laugh. She cared deeply for others and worked with children for years as a speech therapist. She loved her friends and doted fiercely on her two daughters. Chris also tolerated with good humor and patience her husband of 10 years.
Chris delighted in crocheting blankets and animals to gift to friends. She had a profound sense of justice and compassion, crocheting sunflowers to raise money for those displaced by war. And it will not surprise anyone who knew her that, in a final act of generosity, Chris made the ultimate gift of organ donation. She leaves a lasting impression on all who know and love her.
Chris leaves behind a loving husband, Jake, two wonderful daughters, Matilda (8) and Josephine (5), and too many family and friends to count.
Please consider making a contribution to assist Jake and the kids in the coming weeks and months with various expenses and needs. Show this family that you’re thinking about them by making a donation to help alleviate any financial burdens during this difficult time. Every little bit helps; no donation is too small. Let’s wrap this family in the love and light of their community.
