Only a week before Thanksgiving, my roommates and I received devastating news: the building that has been my home for over ten years, Hilton's for eight, is being sold and the realtor wants the building cleared, so we would have to find a new place to live and be moved out by January 15th, 2024. This has been an incredibly stressful time, but we've managed to find a place that is perfect for our needs, and though our rent will go up, as it would anywhere in the housing market, it will still be affordable for us once things stabilize. But between the suddenness of the news, the holidays bearing down on us, still having to pay rent on our current home for December, the doubled up cost of first month's rent and the security deposit, plus the pet depost and the costs of moving itself are presenting a significant challenge for us within such a short time frame. First month's rent will be $1400, and the security deposit will be the same, with a pet deposit for Fizzy of $150. We just need some assistance with these initial costs, and once the urgency of the move is past, things will stabilize very quickly.

I know this is a lot to ask, but I want to stress that this is temporary, I am not asking for this to simply be given away to us. Every last cent will be repaid to everyone who helps us, as quickly as we are able once this situation is over. It would mean the world to us if you would be willing to lend us a hand through this incredibly difficult time. Thank you so much.
