The Herring Family

The Herring family has faced some unforeseen health concerns over the last year. Scarlett was born on July 26, 2019, with Pierre Robin Sequence (cleft palates and recesses chin) and Hypoplasia. After multiple hospitalizations, surgeries and doctor's office visits, she was diagnosed with Sticklers Syndrome and Becker's Muscular Dystrophy on August 7, 2020, which are two genetic based diagnosis that do not have a cure. Scarlett is scheduled to undergo jaw surgery in December 2020. Since these diagnoses are genetic based, her Big Brother, Lincoln underwent some genetic testing on August 10th. 

While this news has been shocking, we know that only God knows what the future holds for The Herring Family. Stephanie and Tanner both hold full-time jobs while trying to take care of their children. They travel from Mississippi to Birmingham, AL multiple times a month for Scarlett's doctor's appointments. As any parent, they are doing everything that they can to spend as much time as possible with their two beautiful children. The family has health insurance, but as we all know health insurance will only cover some of the cost.
