The Heritage House
The Heritage House was donated years ago to the "Civic Clubs" of Meade. Like so many things from our past these clubs have slowly dissapeared. Now there is nobody to look after this unique old home which was the first house in our town to be wired for electricity... also the first house to have indoor plumbing! It was a Sears and Roebuck house and very impressive in its day.
Sadly, it has fallen to the Meade County Historical Society to maintain the home and they simply do not have the funds.
Donations will help with restoration and maintenance of the house so that it will be safe for visitors to tour and enjoy. We need to preserve this part of our history to show our children and grandchildren how we used to live.
The funds will go for building material and labor for the restoration. We have already started in faith that we will get the help we need.
