UPDATE FROM STACIE:
Dear friends and friends of friends,
I wish you could see and touch the capacity of gratitude I feel for all of the support you’ve given so generously!
Because of that support, you made being in incredibly stressful situations doable. Not only that, but I felt and feel held. That’s a really big deal!!
On my trip I surrendered to the things that were out of my control, trusting that I would be okay, and I am, by the grace of you.
I wouldn’t have asked, but my friends knew I needed help.
I really don’t know how I would have made it through without your support.
The amount of support and care you provided is SO touching and kind!
I’ve been practicing receiving and you all made it gentle and sweet for me to sit in, in a HUGE way.
From the depth of my heart THANK YOU!

Our beloved Mr. Rogers once said, “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping’”
In our community, one of those helpers who has given tirelessly of her time, talents, and energy, finds herself in need of our help. Stacie Beckert has worked with individuals with disabilities helping them make connections with their bodies for nearly 18 years. This is a career born of passion, and a servant’s heart.
I have personally seen, time and time again, how Stacie shows up, without any expectations, to help others who are in need. And now it is her turn.
You see, last month, Stacie splurged for a ticket to Burning Man. This was an opportunity for a much-needed vacation. All she had to do was get there. She had enough vacation time for the trip and a little padding on the home side to regroup and get the chores done before returning to work. If you are unfamiliar with what happened at Burning Man this year, you can catch up here: https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/03/us/burning-man-storms-shelter-sunday/index.html
So after the 16+ hour exit line to leave the event a day (or two) late, the haul home began. Unfortunately, her little Fiat did not make it. As luck would have it, her car broke down in Colorado near her sister. So, she scheduled a car repair. Murphy’s Law at play here, of course there would be an auto-worker’s strike preventing the mechanic from being able to get the part necessary for the repair. The part finally arrived Monday 9/18 and as it turns out, it was the wrong part. They have reordered it and are doing their best to get her back on track to get home.
But, she will not be returning to her job. The vacation padding was maxed out. Now, I don’t know how many of you could go without a paycheck, let alone two, but losing your job on top of expensive auto repairs and lost time would probably wipe many of us out.
So, if you have a little extra to spare, any amount helps. Please consider making a contribution to her GoFundMe. Let’s get her home.
