The Hebert Family Needs Your Support

Olivia is a very mature 14 year old who is strong and remains positive through her rare diagnosis of pediatric ovarian cancer. Olivia’s has a Pediatric Non Differentiated Sertoli Leydig Tumor Cancer which is incredibly rare with no current studies to cure.

“A "non-differentiable" or "poorly differentiated" Sertoli-Leydig cell tumor (SLCT) is a rare type of ovarian tumor that is difficult to categorize due to its atypical cellular features and lack of clear differentiation into the usual Sertoli or Leydig Cell Components”.

Olivia has big plans for her future and maintains honors in high school including being in the National Honor Society. She is remarkably creative and is inducted in the National Junior Art Honor Society. She dreams of being an animator and to attend The Disney College program. Olivia is eager to get back to school and normalcy. Olivia has undergone major surgery losing one of her ovaries, IVF treatments and 2 chemo cycles so far with at least 2 more planned cycles to come. The rest of her journey is unknown at this time but we remain hopeful she is going to fight hard to beat this incredibly heartbreaking disease.

As we move into a new year, it means our insurance deductible will not be met, and we will have increased out-of-pocket expenses. Over $6000. We continue to fight for a secondary insurance with Mass Health Connector, but they refuse to approve her without a monthly cost to us that we cannot afford every month on top of the regular one we pay for through Curt's employer. PFML will be ending soon, and it will leave us without pay for time out of work. We are actively trying to get approved for an extension.

As you can see, this journey wreaks havoc on so many areas of our family's life, and it's draining us. We haven't had a full week's pay since September. We have been incredibly blessed with support from various non-profits and friends, but we still have not gotten ahead from being so behind, on top of added travel expenses, medical bills, and more. We created this in place of our Meal Train because GoFundMe has fewer fees and tends to get more reach. We appreciate everyone's continued love, prayers, and support. Thank you.
