Every $10 donated is equivalent to 1 ticket into the draw to win a weekend away in Byron Bay for 2 persons.
The Heathmont Football Netball Club started in 1956 and currently has three Senior Men’s Football teams, One Senior Women’s team, Fourteen junior sides (boys & girls) and Four senior Women’s and 14 Junior netball sides.
This year has been a tough year for the Jets. The planned mid-season demolition of our historic Clubrooms meant that the club made the difficult decision to alter our draw to play all our home games in the first half of the year.
This has had a more that predicted negative effect on our financial position. Despite our Senior Men’s team starting the season well, it was difficult to maintain our normal attendance numbers with games at home every week. Due to less people coming through the gates, the flow on effect of less turnover in bar, canteen, BBQ, membership and fundraising has hit the club hard.
We pride ourselves on being a financially stable club, providing a facility for our community to be involved in physical activity, as well as build a club environment which enables our players, members and supporters of all ages to build a strong community spirit. The Club is proud of its support of community and charity organisations, such as Cystic Fibrosis Australia, in which each season, our last game is always the CF round. We take part in Beyond Blue round and last year we supported the Walk for Tessa, to support a club family . Even in our tough times we will continue to support these organisations because we care.
With the new clubrooms to be completed in 2020, the club has the task of raising $200,000 for the final fit out of the facility. This money will be spent on kitchen, canteen, bar, cool-room, AV equipment, furniture, as well as a myriad of other items. This cost in in addition to ongoing costs of running a local sporting club, which in itself is a financial challenge.
