The Heart of Pontiac: Support Damany Head's Bereaved Family

On July 9, 2025, beloved father, devoted husband, dear friend and community leader, Damany Head had a heart attack, leaving him in critical condition. After over two weeks in intensive care, and in spite of the near-constant attendance, care and prayer of his loved ones, Damany passed away in the afternoon of Saturday, July 26, 2025. His passing leaves an enormous and painful gap in many lives, particularly those of his beloved wife, Shanell, and three children.

Damany was a tireless entrepreneur, community volunteer, and civic leader who poured his heart into uplifting his family, community and the city he called home. Damany had a particular passion for helping young people build promising futures. This passion led him to create numerous organizations and training programs to serve the youth of Pontiac, and beyond. The video here gives but a small glimpse into the positive impact he has had on the lives of so many in the Pontiac region. Whether it was his environmental stewardship to help preserve the health of the planet for generations to come, his commitment to fostering entrepreneurial success for business leaders in the community, his skillful mentoring of the next generation to build prosperous and fulfilling careers, or his tireless work (thousands of volunteer hours) to increase literacy and improve educational outcomes in the Pontiac region, all who knew Damany will say he was a true difference maker with an inexhaustible commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others.
