After it being out of the military since 2021, he still has not been assigned a PCM which has led to not receiving the preventative care he needed for ulcerative colitis. February 8th Gabby had to call 911, his oxygen was dangerously low and after making to Onslow Memorial Hospital by ambulance, they gave him 3 bags of blood (for the second time in less than 3 weeks) and he was then airlifted to Duke University Hospital in Durham, where he spent several days in the ICU. It was there that it was discovered that on top of intestinal inflammation, he had a serious infection throughout his lungs. This entire situation has been incredibly different for Marco, Gabby, and their three beautiful children who all just want their daddy to get better and get back to his normal self. It is going to be a long road to recovery and this is where he needs support. I know there are so many people and groups of friends Marco has loved, and more than anything has made laugh.
