The Harris Family’s Expenses

My name is Heather and I’m the sister of Cody & Lydia and Aunt to Addison, Maggie, and Evie.

On Tuesday, August 16th Lydia went in to see her OB due to having heart palpitations, chest pain and shortness of breath since Saturday the 13th. He ordered blood work which came back very bad. She was directly admitted and had multiple tests done that day.

They found out she has Heart Failure. They have since ran more tests and are trying to find out cause, they believe it is cardiomyopathy/myocarditis. From pregnancy and stress.

She has started on four different meds but due to that, she has to stop breastfeeding. She has breastfed all of her babies and has to stop even though Evie is just over a week old.

She will follow up in one week with Cardio at Phelps, and then in 4-6 weeks at Barnes for further testing.

Cody and Lydia had planned on having another baby down the road and also planned on doing surrogacy. Due to her heart condition, it is not recommended that she go through pregnancy again. While she is still healing from having Evie, she will also not be returning to work for some time. Right now, the future is so unknown.

I wanted to start this so the family can focus on healing both physically and mentally. There are going to be medical bills rolling in as well as now they have to navigate the world of formula feeding as they have never had to do that before.
