The Harpers Lost Everything in a Wildfire

Donation protected
The Harpers have lost everything in this week's lightning fires in San Mateo and Santa Cruz Counties.  Christine and Chuck raised their family in White House Canyon, after Chuck himself grew up there.  Christine and her sister Laura Jamieson have spent most of their lives in and out of the Canyon; their grandfather built a cabin there after he immigrated from Germany.  Laura's daughter Sofia considers it her other home as well - and her brand-new powered wheelchair was among the things lost.

Christine, her daughter Julia, and their extended family (chosen and otherwise) lost their home and farm to the fire. Their home has always been a place of respite and community. A place where everyone is welcome and nobody is turned away. She is a cook and using the land she has worked a lifetime building, she cooks for many with love and openness.  There's always room for one more at the table, and there was always a place for a working family in need on the land.

I know they will need a lot in the coming months, and I know there are so many of us who want to give back to this generous, loving, beloved family.  Please donate here for immediate needs.  If you have household or farming items you can spare, get in touch with us about physical donations.  Old gift cards are great too!
