The Hannah Marie Bowes Memorial Nursing Scholarship
In loving memory of Hannah Marie Bowes, a compassionate caregiver, devoted school nurse, and free-spirited soul, the Hannah Marie Bowes Memorial Nursing Scholarship has been established to honor her life, her work, and her unwavering dedication to others.
Hannah was a proud graduate of Groton-Dunstable Regional High School (Class of 2014) who went on to find her true calling in nursing. She began her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a nursing home, where her patients quickly became like family. With grace and determination, she continued her education at Labouré College, earning her nursing degree in 2021 while working full-time. She went on to serve the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a COVID-19 nurse and ultimately accepted a role that she cherished deeply, the beloved elementary school nurse in the Weston School District.
Known for her clinical excellence and radiant spirit, Hannah had a rare gift for making people, especially children, feel safe and loved. Her calm presence, listening ear, and joyful energy made her a comforting figure in every room she entered. Her coworkers admired her, her students adored her, and her legacy will live on in the lives she so lovingly touched.
More than her profession, Hannah was a vibrant, kind, and thoughtful person who found joy in simple pleasures. Whether she was doing cartwheels barefoot in the grass, making people laugh with silly jokes, or cuddling with her beloved Maltese, Casper, Hannah approached life with curiosity, lightness, and love. Her adventurous spirit took her across Italy and Switzerland, while her summers were often spent on the beaches of Ogunquit, surrounded by lifelong friends and laughter.
The Hannah Marie Bowes Memorial Nursing Scholarship will be awarded annually to a kind, hard-working, and committed student pursuing a degree in nursing, with a demonstrated passion for serving others and a spirit that reflects Hannah’s own joyful, empathetic, and selfless.
