I weigh 117 kilograms and in 100 days I am going to run a half marathon - this is my journey to the starting line. This is the half mARROWthon.
When Jai Arrow shared his diagnosis with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), it affected me more than I realised it would. Like so many others, I was rocked by the news. As a dad myself, it made me think deeply about how precious our health, our families, and our time together really are.
So I've made a commitment. In 100 days time, I am going to complete a half marathon to support Jai, his family, and MND Australia.
Over the next 100 days, I'm pushing myself out of my comfort zone to get fit and complete a half marathon in the name of this important cause. Every training run will be a reminder of why this matters. While I'll be battling sore legs and early mornings, that challenge is nothing compared to what people living with MND face every single day.
Some days are going to hurt. Some days I'll want to quit. Some days I'll probably fail. But if those with MND can turn up every single day and fight, I can lace up my shoes and keep putting one foot in front of the other.
I'm asking for your support to help make a difference. Every dollar raised will be split equally:
50% will go directly to support Jai Arrow and his family.
50% will be donated to MND Australia to help fund vital support services, research, and the fight to find a cure.
If Jai's story has touched you like it has me, I'd be incredibly grateful if you could donate or share this page. Together, we can raise awareness and support this cause.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Every kilometre I run is for a cause far greater than myself.
I've got 100 days.
