Chris Haertling is a hard-working farmer from New Wells, MO, devout husband to Amy, and a wonderful father to Allison and Jackson. He loves his family, his dogs, dancing, and always making sure to let his sisters know when “The Wizard of Oz” is on TV. He is loved by many.
On December 22nd, Chris went to the ER because he was struggling to breathe and was extremely tired. He was later admitted into the hospital for low oxygen caused by Bilateral COVID Pneumonia. Early on December 27th, Chris was ventilated and sent to St. Francis Medical Center because of his worsening condition. After a couple days of improving, he took significant steps back when it was discovered he had a very rare form of fungal pneumonia. Over the last two and a half weeks, Chris has gone through many trials like fever, dropping oxygen, high heart rate, and inconsistent blood sugar. However, he has experienced many small victories that could lead him to recovery.
The doctors expect Chris to spend at least six months in the hospital before he has a chance of being discharged. Chris’s family lives 30 minutes away from the hospital, so they are staying at a nearby hotel because of his critical condition. Chris has also had to receive special treatment and medications to stabilize him. His family has also paused from working to give all their focus to Chris. Funds raised would go towards hospital bills, hotel bills and other living expenses for the Haertling family.
Many people have asked the Haertling family what they could do to help them- and they only ask for prayers that Chris can overcome this sickness. However, if you feel called to give any type of donation to help their family, they would be forever grateful and so appreciated! They feel each prayer and thought and see how many people are rooting for Chris’s recovery.
