The CENTURION FUND is the RAF Regiment’s charity. The fund is charged with the care and maintenance of the Corps’ name, traditions and history, fostering esprit-de-corps and comradeship amongst members and former members of the RAF Regiment. It exists to commemorate and remember those who have lost their lives or suffered injury or put themselves at risk of loss of life or injury during their time in the Service.
Trainee Gunners from TG-24 Salalah Flt will be taking on a tough challenge to raise money for the CENTURION FUND, This challenge will see the trainee gunners climbing the peaks of Slieve Donard, Scafell Pike, Snowdon and Ben Nevis using various pieces of gym equipment such as Rowing Machine, SkiErg, Assault Bike and finally a run. Details are below;
Row – 1345m, Ben Nevis. (individual best effort)
Travel to next peak – 247 miles Bike (split between the Flt)
SkiErg – 978m, Scarfell Pike. (individual best effort)
Travel to next peak – 124 miles Bike (split between the Flt)
Assault bike – 1085m, Snowden. (individual best effort)
Travel to next peak – 307 miles Bike (split between the Flt)
Run – 850m, Slieve Donard. (individual best effort)
Upon completion of the event the winner from the Trainee Gunners will receive the WO 'Slap' Roland's trophy at the graduation parade where they will receive their RAF Regiment mudguards.
