To honor the memory of a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, the family of Guillo Carias has created a fundraiser to continue the legacy of his musical life.

Guillo’s music has touched us all, but he was much more than a musician or the music he made. He was a great teacher and mentor, too.

On April 28, 2022 Guillo was honored by the Dominican Republic, when it’s current president, Luis Abinader, in a ceremony at the presidential palace, bestowed him with the decoration of the Heraldic of Christopher Columbus in the degree of Knight as an eminent dominican musician. At the time, Guillo commented that receiving such an honor by his country would help him further elevate the music he loved worldwide.

With the intention of providing opportunity to musicians for generations to come and to continue Guillo’s legacy and will to those musically inspired, this fundraiser will be used to assist musicians pursue their love of the arts.

Whether it was the romance found in a ballad, the energy in jazz, the flow that fills the merengue, the pambiche or the bachata, Guillo played it all upon a world stage filled with exquisite harmonies and enchanting melodies.

The Carias family, along with those touched by Guillo and his music, thank you for your kind thoughts and contributions.
