The student-run Gamer Symphony Orchestra is the first collegiate ensemble exclusively devoted to performing orchestral arrangements of video game music and using that music as an educational tool. We now boast a roster of more than 140 musicians, including over 40 singers.
Our 20th anniversary is coming up, and we want to put on an extra special concert at the Prestigious Strathmore Music Center in Bethesda, MD. However, putting on a concert at the Strathmore isn't cheap, and we need your help to raise the funds to make our dream come true.
Our overarching goal is to make around $20,000, which would cover almost all of the renting, labor, and transportation costs of performing at such a popular venue. Many orchestras cover a majority of these costs with ticket sales, but the GSO at UMD has a policy of making every single one of our concerts completely free to the public. Every little bit counts and no matter what, donations will help the GSO to continue making amazing music for our fans for years to come!
