The Griffin's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Amy and Nolan traveled to Spain for a family wedding this past week. It was Nolan's 30th birthday, and they were so excited to celebrate with family and friends in a foreign country. While they were there, they went for a scenic swim. Nolan decided to jump from a rock into the water. The water was much more shallow than they thought. He broke both of his ankles and fractured both tibias upon impact. Their vacation took a turn as Nolan was rushed to a hospital in Spain, where they faced language barriers while trying to get him the help that he needed. He has already undergone one surgery in Spain.
Amy flew back to Birmingham Tuesday, July 5, on her own to try and figure out insurance, medical flights, finding doctors who would accept him and how to get Nolan home. Nolan is still in Spain with an aunt and uncle who live there. Amy is overwhelmed with trying to figure out everything she needs to do to get him stateside. They did not have overseas medical/travel insurance, and the cost of everything that is to come, including a medical flight home, is insurmountable. The only way we know how to help them at this time is to try to raise funds to lessen the burden for them as they work through this. Nolan will have to undergo more surgeries when he gets back home and will have a long road to recovery following those. Please consider donating if you feel led! Amy and Nolan are the kinds of people who would drop anything for anyone; they wholeheartedly serve others and serve a loving God. We know God's hand is in their story and in all of the details. We continue to ask for prayers for their family during this time.
