The Green Monster Project

Hi Everyone! This fundraiser will benefit the "Green Monster Project", a green screen that will be installed along the top of the homer fence at the senior baseball field located at Sulak Lane in memory of Kyle Green, a PRHS alumni ('16) and PRHS baseball player (#16). We recently formed the Extra Innings Group, made up of Park Ridge resident volunteers led by PRHS alumna Troy Taber ('13), to organize a softball and corn hole tournament on August 7th called the Extra Innings Tournament to fulfill a project Troy and Julia's father, Michael Taber, himself a PRHS alumna ('82) (#24) and former PRAA coach and PRHS volunteer assistant baseball coach, had been working on prior to his sudden passing in late February 2021. "Coach Taber" had envisioned transforming the homerun fence he installed at Sulak Field, home of the PRHS baseball team into "The Green Monster". The 10'x100' green fabric screen memorializes Green's "coachability" and the 100% effort he gave to his teammates and coaches; qualities Coach Taber encouraged in his players and admired in Kyle.

All funds will first go toward the purchase and installation of the Green Monster; donations received in excess will go towards donations to the Park Ridge American Legion and Tri-Boro Food Bank. The Extra Innings Group hopes that the community and PRHS Alumni will "rally" their town spirit and celebrate the positive impact both PRHS Alumni Taber and Green left on their fellow Owls and "Ridgers".
