Our Purpose
Greatest Gift Foundation was founded with the hopes of serving low income communities by helping families, former felons and mentoring/educating teens (aged 13-19) who come from dilapidated homes.
Serving Low Income Families
The foundation will provide a glimpse of hope for low income families by providing services and items to these families in times of need which include but are not limited to:
- Providing help with back to school supplies
- Providing food (increased supply for Holidays)
- Helping families complete their Christmas lists for young children
- Financial literacy classes
- Quarterly gatherings to express and implicate ideas of community and family improvement
Helping Former Felons
Greatest Gift Foundation will help former felons be helping the re-enter today's workforce. It is very difficult for ex-offenders to re-enter the workforce due to lack of empathy from employers and limited options. Most employers do not feel that felons have changed and are unwilling to hire them. Also, a lot of felons have a hard time getting licensing for trades due to their backgrounds. We plan to link these individuals with companies who are "felon friendly" and work as a gateway to their new life.
Mentoring Teens
These teens may feel hopeless and disappointed due to their past circumstances. Our intentions are to give these teens the tools they need to flourish in a society that may be unfamiliar to them. Simple things that we take for granted such as having a checking account. viewing landmarks and reviewing history are common to most individuals, but these teens feel they're restricted from these life experiences due to their limited resources and what they're accustomed to seeing in their neighborhoods. Studies have shown that a mere 6% of children who were born in poverty explore outside of their neighborhood.
With the Greatest Gift Foundation these teens will be able to travel to unfamiliar places and obtain devices that are essential to a healthier lifestyle. With these devices, it is our hope that they will have a new perspective on their lives and hopefully break the cycle of poverty in their family.
About the Founder
Coming from a single parent home and being raised in unfavorable circumstances, Bianca knows the struggles of feeling incapable and limited. After breaking barriers of poverty, she realized that not only was the feeling of being restricted holding her back, also the ignorance of resources that were available to her. She feels that awareness is the key to transition and transformation. This foundation will be utilized to give these individuals opportunities that otherwise may not have been afforded to them.
