Friends, while we have rescued quite a number of horses, cats and dogs in the past, never have we welcomed on such a huge undertaking.  At Maverick Horseback Riding we have taken in 20 puppies which are in foster right now with us from a ranch which reached out for help as local shelters were unable to assist.  This, combined with the 6 cats we took on this year plus six other dogs has made 2020 our biggest year yet.  With 20 puppies in our new kennel (thanks to those who have already donated so much!) we are "ok," but we also know that the vet bills for wormer, flea treatment and vaccines are the easy ones.  Once we start spaying and neutering, the challenge is going to grow.  But we aren't just trying to spay and neuter these 20 new foster pups.  We are hoping that this Go Fund Me campaign will raise enough money to cover the 20 pups *** and that rehoming fees from the puppies themselves will go to spay, neuter and treat for worms, mange and fleas another 20 full-grown less desirable dogs that live at this other ranch.  It's not enough to rehome the cute furbabies that everyone wants.  We want to raise money to stop the problem at the source.  These remaining full grown dogs are strays that have wandered up to the ranch.  The ranchers, not having the funds to spay and neuter all of these animals, have been feeding the poor, skinny souls.  Unfortunately, they are reproducing quickly, creating a bit of chaos.  That's when we stepped in to take three litters of pups.  Will you please help us vet out these animals?  NOTE: Many reduced spay and neuter programs will not take large lots of dogs like this.  YES we are happy to consider this option if someone has a resource that will actually take all these puppies.  Otherwise, we are supporting our small town vet.  There's a lot of paying it forward occurring here.  Please consider making a contribution.  Maverick's is providing all of the labor for feeding and caring for these animals.  The funds raised go directly to medical treatment and improved living conditions: materials costs.  Please spread the word on our efforts to spay, neuter and treat for fleas and worms OVER FIFTY FUR FRIENDS!!!
