The Great Birthday Shave-Off
Donation protected
This year, I’m doing something big and bald (get it?) for my birthday! On March 1st, I’ll be shaving my hair to raise money for cancer research. Instead of gifts or birthday wishes, I’m asking you to put your money where your mouth is and help me support this cause.
If you know me, my hair never stays the same for long... but I’ve never gone this bold or this bald before! It feels like the perfect time to take the plunge for such an important cause.
Cancer has touched all of our lives in some way, and in recent years, three of my closest friends have had their worlds turned upside down. I’ve seen firsthand just how tough that journey can be, and I’ve decided to dedicate this fundraiser to them and their amazing dads.
The funds raised will be split equally among three incredible charities, nominated by my friends:
Chris O’Brien Lifehouse: A world-class centre offering integrated cancer care, treatment, and research.
Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia: Supporting men with prostate cancer through research, education, and advocacy.
Cancer Council Australia : Leading the way in cancer prevention, research, and support services.
Now, here’s the fun part: my dear friend Sarah (trusted only because she is a former hairdresser) will do the honours and we'll figure out a way to share it all live. I’m sure Sarah is secretly thrilled about this. Me? I’m just hoping for a nicely shaped head!
My goal is to raise $9,000 (because it's easy to split three ways), and every single dollar will make a real difference. Big or small, every contribution counts, and if you can’t donate, please share this with your network - friends, family, your local barista - everyone!
Cancer sucks, but together, we can fight back. Thank you so much for your generosity, love, and support in making this birthday one to remember.
In loving memory of Greg and Garry.
