THE GOTHS HEALTH FUNDRAISER

Donation protected

Hello beautiful people,

My name is Alisha, with Raven (my wife) and Whiska (our cat) we are the Goths!

We are opening this fundraiser because in the first month of 2022 all of us have been impacted by serious health issues that require prompt treatment to avoid the situation getting worse.

In November 2020 we both caught Covid for the second time, it left us with Long Covid.
Whereas I started to improve over summer 2021, Raven did not, in fact, she got worse.
Her health started to impact her life severely we had to cut down on the amount of work we could do for what was our full-time job: the YouTube Channel Keto In The UK. Even filming and working from home was severely impacted by her health deteriorating.
Her symptoms got progressively worse until, since December 2021, they impacted her daily simplest activities. We finally got to see a Doctor last week and the issue turned out to be likely Multiple Sclerosis: the post viral syndrome from Covid simply revealing and worsening the issues she had been dealing with. She is on a waiting list to see a neurologist which at the moment seems to be over 2 years long. As MS is a degenerative disease, for her to go years without treatment means she'll get worse, and likely in ways that won't be as treatable as they are today. The only other way we have is to see a private neurologist and get a private MRI to get an official diagnosis as soon as possible so that hopefully her quality of life can be partially regained.

About a month ago Raven and I noticed Whiska, our cat, had a weird growth on his back. We took him to the vet and they explained how that's not the kind of thing commonly seen on cats: he needed surgery to have the growth removed. We paid for the operation out of our savings and had already cut out some part of the treatment, but that severely impacted our economic situation. Now the vet strongly suggested we have the growth analysed (it's been kept in formaldehyde) so we know what it was an in case, what to do and expect. That is not something we can currently afford.

Finally today, I didn't escape the wave of health issues that have surrounded our family. I started to feel something weird in my mouth, I contacted my dentist and friend, who asked me for a picture just in case but thankfully I asked for her help: my front tooth is somewhat dropping and subject to torsion. Without braces, it will only get worse. I already have body dysmorphia issues and I fear immensely losing the ability to smile, to talk, along with another abnormality to be harassed and bullied for, as if being fat, queer, and mixed-race, hadn't been enough. Relying on my skills as an on-camera personality with body image issues is hard enough as it is, but this would be the last straw and take away what little income streams we have left as Raven finishes her studies and can't rely on student finance.
