Stuart & Patti Goodson's Transport
I've started this page for Stuart and Patti Goodson; grandparents who have the care and home-schooling of 3 teen grandsons. They adopted the boys because the parents were unable to give them the care they so desperately needed.
Stuart is a former Hillsborough County, Florida Sheriff Deputy who is also a cancer survivor. He spent years working as a farmer after his health forced retirement.
Today, they are having some major difficulties. Stuart needs multiple weekly dialysis for his remaining kidney left from the cancer and Patti is on medications for her debilitating migraines and vision and other health problems. Last month, their only means of transportation quit and they have been relying on friends to get Stuart to his dialysis treatments - sometimes 3 a week. These treatments are literally the difference between life and death for Stuart. Because of where they live, they need a reliable vehicle with 4 wheel drive because of the icy-snow conditions in winter and rain in summer can make for dangerous driving. Patti is unable to drive and she has not been able to qualify for any services to assist her in medical costs involving treatments or medications.
They are desperately in need of reliable 4 wheel-drive transportation and some funds for medical issues that their meager insurance doesn't cover.
I have known this couple for more than 40 years. They have worked all their lives and after raising their children, they are now raising their 3 grandsons who have some medical issues of their own. As friends, I would like help to get transportation for doctor and dialysis visits and some extra funds to help in covering medical costs and medicine. They would not think to ask for themselves, but I know they need this help a and will appreciate it more than anyone can imagine!
