This is Grant Wood Elementary, one of the 14 schools in the Iowa City Community School District identified as Title I. Many of the young children who attend these schools cannot afford basic school supplies such as calculators, backpacks, notebooks, markers, and even erasers. We were able to speak with one young girl from Weber Elementary who told us about how she loved math and wished that their school had more calculators because they didn't always work. It is truly heartbreaking to see these students deprived of their basic education needs.

That is why we formed The Golden Beaker. The Golden Beaker is a student-led nonprofit dedicated to increasing STEM and education accessibility to disadvantaged students. Please help us reach our goal of $2,500 worth of school supplies donated to these elementary schools. We appreciate any contribution.
